Third Man Records is an independent record label founded by Jack White in Detroit, in 2001.Third Man established its first physical location—a combination record store, performance venue, and headquarters for the label—in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2009.The label opened a Detroit storefront location in 2015, which added a pressing plant (Third Man Pressing) in 2017. Their third store in Soho, London, opened in 2021.

Third Man Records is not a fake life agency with signed artists, but rather, we follow more of a private business model and act as a music distributor.Our goal is to help promote fake life and roleplay musicians through promotional materials, by boosting their projects, hosting timeline events, and sharing art that we love.Due to this, we will not have an open application process. As this is largely a passion project, Third Man is comprised of a group of friends and family, though anyone may inquire to become an affiliate and have their music promoted. OUR MISSION.

As previously stated, we are not an agency or a representative group, and exist for promotional purposes only as a music and vinyl distributor. We aim to be a lax, fun environment that cultivates creativity and allows fake life musicians to share art that they love.In attempt to stay true to the spirit of Third Man, our role in all of this includes creating and distributing vinyl copies of singles, albums, and EP's, as well as hosting live shows, and uplifting our artists.Due to fake life's history with labels, we would like to emphasize that we are not here to police anybody, or dictate what or how they post. Again, we are merely a group of friends here to promote each other's works.

Though we are a somewhat private and closed group, anyone may inquire about having copies of their music distributed through Third Man, or performing at our live venues in our Detroit, Nashville, and London locations.Please contact us here, or here.

Q: What exactly are the perks of becoming an affiliate?

A: First and foremost, we are music lovers who want to share and spread it, whether that be through retweeting and boosting an artist's posts about upcoming projects, or selling their records in our storefronts. We also have multiple live venues, and are open to hosting events and shows or putting on tours.
⠀Q: Do I have to be an official affiliate to partake in events, festivals, or perform at Third Man?

A: No! This is something that is open to any RP/FL musician. All we ask is that you contact us so that we can plan accordingly and add it into our events calendar.In addition, any RP/FL musician may release a vinyl record through Third Man, and have it stocked in our store without becoming an official affiliate.

Q: Are there any restrictions?

A: We don't allow or tolerate any form of bigotry, unnecessary bullying, or bullshit, and engaging in such will result in getting booted.

A: We ask that you be at least eighteen years of age, as many of us adults are wary of interacting with minors in this setting.If you intend to release music through us, please let us know ahead of time, so that we may add it into our release calendar and promote it accordingly. Keep us in the loop, basically, but just so we know what's going on!Lastly, we will have a sort of "promo chat" for our official affiliates, and we ask that you at least like everyone's posts before sending your own. We don't require RTs/QRTs, but they are encouraged and appreciated! Though we aim to promote music, sending photos/images of your fake for more engagements and likes is totally fine, so long as it isn't explicit or NSFW!
